|| INTRODUCTION ||

The Weekend Architectural Workshop (WAW) is a workshop for architects and architect students from Spain and for the entire world. It is organized by Instituto de Arquitectura Avanzada de Cataluña (IaaC), and it’s about advance digital manufacture technologies for the production of Architect. This workshop use systems such us Laser Cut, 3D Printers and a Numeric Milling Machine CNC. The WAW_ETSAM objective has been the manufacture prototypes based and constructed with Laser Cut System.

The first workshop was in the Instituto de Arquitectura Avanzada de Cataluña (IaaC)
during the 21, 22, 23 of April 2007.

“…this first WAW pretends to be the first of many others, and as a pilot workshop we choose make some paper air balloons, for many reasons: it’s a continuous light surface, where the assembly is a principal part, also for being a not orthogonal surface, with an important curvature, for being a light structure where was allowed a certain formal innovation of the conventional air balloon…”
